i met these two darlings last year at Pumpkin Palooza – they were my last kids of the day – and had ADORABLE costumes – wee little scarecrows… anyway..  got an email from mom, hannah, wondering if she came in from Knoxville, could i fit them in – heck yeah!!!   so.. then ideas started… we ended up in Abingdon, with a super cool horse and buggy hoping rain did not pour down on us… we did get rained on, but just a titch.. we had such fun..  we would see a cool place, ask if we could stop, jump out, take a few minutes to steal a few moments… our driver (wait.. is that what we should call him – driver? of the horses – well, John – was incredibly patient)…   Carolyn, a fantastic big sister is adorable and cracked me up with her shoes and how protective she was with Alex.. a little mom… and Alex was awesome and by the end of the session he perfected zoning me out..  they were both so thoughtful with each other..  a super fun session – with a very laid back mom – of almost THREE!!!

here is a little peek from our session..

a fun day was had at Plumb Alley day in Abingdon!  so many people stopped by to say hi – great to meet some of you who read the blog that i haven’t met before and many of you who i get to photograph regularly too..  if you saw us in the morning, we were in a fabulous shaded spot – well, by 1 that afternoon, we were in full sun and my forehead is even peeling a tad from it..

tiffany and i shared a spot – and didn’t her wreaths and plants just make the table?..   i’m not sure how many of you stopped by, but i know we were both out of business cards and ALL but the two hydrangeas i wanted were gone too.. busy and fun day..

noah :: loving #14

May 20, 2009

GOSH it felt good to get back out and not worry about the weather.. thanks to the lovely rainy cold weather we’ve had over the last two weeks, this session required a bit of rescheduling.. but WOW, the Glenrochie Country Club was beautiful!   I love family stories.. and Emily and Alex met at the GCC and were married there also..  we did this session on the Loving hole – #14..  so pretty..  little Noah is just 3 years old..  and he is such an awesome little guy… very serious, and sweet.. with an immense love of mechanical things – like – oh ..  washers and dryers… it was awesome being out on a warm sunny day.. with a chill family who was up for anything..  here are a few peeks for Emily and Alex..  I can’t wait to see Noah’s washer and dryer next week!

ps.. my cheeks hurt from smiling while editing..

i am soooo over the rain.. i had THREE sessions i had to reschedule last week.. as you all know, i totally limit the number of sessions i take each month and the bulk of them were last week.. that rain.. GOSH!!!  but there are some gorgeous flowers and GREEN GREEN grasses coming out as a result, so i will quit complaining!  we will be getting back to it hopefully this week – and have some lush backgrounds for our wait..

a huge project i was working on for First United Methodist Church in Bristol, TN was just finished.. I am sooo happy that they asked me to be part of it.   We actually attended there today to see the final dedication of the GORGEOUS project they’ve been working on.. Thank you all for asking me to help document this awesome project.  Hope Loetta is feeling better asap!

before heading out on our camping trip this weekend – and yes, we got hit pretty hard with that storm on Friday night – still had a good time.. kids really enjoyed it and i enjoyed watching the kids and tom enjoying it.. i’ll try to pull some photos from it later.. that park is soooo awesome – we went to Hungry Mother State Park.. i just kept thinking what a great place to bust out the camera.. but when i do that, i don’t concentrate on what is going on, instead, i go in to my technical brain and don’t enjoy the moment of my family.. but man, i missed some great images. i did bring the point and shoot – so we got some..

okay.. back to what i was saying.. before we headed out, tiffany, called to see if i could get some photos of a couple of her creations for Mother’s Day weekend..  and it seems she has a direct line to mother nature because the rain stopped for a few hours – just long enough for us to get these shots..  the really cool thing was i got to watch her work for a few minutes.. i SO should have taken pictures of what she starts with and how on earth she ends up with the little works of art she gets just amazes me..  i really just don’t know how she does it.. so.. here ya go.. a couple peeks for tiffany..

check this out.. i was asked to photograph a few arrangements by Tiffany, the creative mind behind  Tiffany Fine Florals.  Knowing Tiffany, i knew whatever i would photograph would be classy and gorgeous, but i had no idea!  each item has been just so unique and so much thought and detail.  tiffany just gets it – her arrangements are amazing… take a look.. www.tiffanyfineflorals.com.. here’s a peek..

don’t you just LOVE the container.. that’s how each of these are.. just so lovely and well, perfect .. and oh, the bouquets, she puts time in to each detail..  let me tell you.. i smiled each time i walked by and as it slowly dried, i was amazed to see that it dried so gorgeous, and is still on the center of my table.  Can’t wait to see what she comes up with for Mother’s Day..

i really needed this weekend. we had an improptu trip to see some of tom’s family down in SC.  they have a gorgeous home.. on the lake – just so relaxing – even with 5 kids around!  AND ALWAYS – awesome food.  the last time we really spent time with them, we didn’t have kids – so probably 7 years ago.. not sure how the dynamic would be with all the kids… well, ya know.. we just had a fantabulous time..
