all i wanted for Easter was a picture of my kids together..we had a fantastic day at the Biltmore.. just fantastic.. relaxing and outdoors the whole time.. perfect weather.. except for the last 20 minutes of the day.. captured horribly below
taking pictures of your own kids is so insanely frustrating.. but i just wanted one picture of all of my kids together.. i swear i forget everything i tell my clients to do when my kids get in front of the camera.. relax, be natural, just let it happen.. not on an empty tummy or exhaustion and simple shirts with NO words on them… well, Emily was NOT having it.. she was exhausted.. we’d been walking the trails at the Biltmore all afternoon and – well, I just didn’t play this smart.. Tom sat Emily in this little spot that had gorgeous bluebells and Emily would NOT have it.. she would not let go of the juice box.. so.. this is what we have… see the sun all splotchy on her.. UGH.. her cheeks blotchy from crying.. i could fix those in editing, but really – the feeling of the moment was blotchy cheeks… she’d rather eat that box than give me the satisfaction of looking in my direction.

the kids in dapply shade/sun is a huge no no – but by this point I was just saying “SIT down.. together… NOW”.. well, then I was that mom i dread… “JUST look AT me”.. “COOPER, come on.. smile”.. “Abby… come on Abby.. not that smile.. your real smile”.. “ONE more.. “.. i mean.. i would have told me to leave!
tom said.. “really, people pay you to do this?? are you like this with their kids?” I mean.. please do not judge me by these images.. they are horrible technically and then just a mess as far as capturing my kids – well, actually I guess this IS my kids in all their goofy-ness!!! i should have just brought my point and shoot and captured the day.. I KNOW better than to try this on hungry tired kids who have been with their grandparents for a week.. OOOOOH.. that’s it.. I will blame it on my Mother In Law!
