Jennie: Those ARE awesome! Think I may have to jump on that bandwagon.

Rebecca Marr: I saw these last night! I'm so excited. Very cool!

as most of you know, our dear Nicholle has been out of commission for a few days and will continue to be for a few weeks more with a sprained wrist/hand/thumb thingy.  and though her brace allows her to look constantly optimistic with a permanent “Fonzy thumbs up”, it makes it a bit difficult to operate her camera.  with an important senior session quickly approaching, Nicholle had to do the unthinkable…loosen her firm grip of control and call in a little help.  brandy to the rescue!  Ryan and Hannah were up from Florida for a quick family visit and wouldn’t return for another until December.  it had to be done.  so I loaded up the guys and was Bristol bound…

while I’ve already had the opportunity to fall in love with the Davidsons, this was my first introduction to the Bunns.  and let me say, they are wonderful…so warm.  their farm wasn’t so bad either.  perfect backdrop to photograph these two awesome teenagers.

Ryan, the rising senior, was a bit reluctant at first (or all morning) to be our model.  but as you’ll see, when this guys smiles, he transforms from a tough guy football player (and he’s good…really, I saw his huge championship ring!) to a camera’s best friend.  thanks for bearing with us ryan and good luck choosing between college in the terrible heat or in the crazy snow!  can’t wait to see what you decide.

then there was Hannah.  beautiful Hannah and her amazing eyelashes.  much to her family’s surprise, this girl is about to head out for an adventure in Montana or Wyoming, somewhere rugged anyway…for like three weeks!  serious business, only necessities and tablets to make the water drinkable.  you are more woman than I am my dear.  thank you for being so lovely and for handling the lack of direction I was willing to give you.  maybe you didn’t realize it, but I didn’t need to give much.  you’ll see…

just one of each…

such a sweet smile

such a sweet smile

just love this one...

just love this one...

katy davidson: aww GREAT job brandy:) love them!

this cool little guy has the most awesome imagination!  I’m really hoping his giraffe is getting over the flu and that his engine is repaired from blowing up on the interstate while he was driving!  He kept me moving the whole visit.  a deep love of all things Matchbox, hide and seek, and well, just playing.  I just wanted to record every bit of his stories – I bet mom April has a blast keeping up with him.  I very much enjoyed hanging out with you guys.

here is a little peek…

and here is the monkey who took the giraffe to the hospital – gosh I hope I remembered that story accurately!

IMG_7003eng

I was supposed to be hiding, but this was so cute – those little hands are so cute and still a bit like a little guy – even though he is a big 4 year old.. “and was 3, and was 2, and was 1″ – (I love talking to four year olds)

IMG_6951bweng

i have some cute images of little Aidan too!!

April: These are great!! I can't wait to see the rest!...and yes you got the giraffe and monkey story correct.

i can’t type much so this will be super short.  last night I hit my hand and sprained it!  seriously!!  i am in a lovely splint/brace thing and dealing with the pretty significant amount of pain that comes with this.  I’m really hoping to be out of the pain part by this weekend and able to return emails/edit as much as possible with splint up to my elbow.  Luckily, Brandy is coming up again this weekend to help anyway!

tom and  i had a FABULOUS week in St. Augustine while the kids – yes, all three of them – spent a week with their Grandma and Grandpa at Cousins week.. More about that in a post later this week.  Although I was technically on vacation – there is a lot brewing over here so I couldn’t technically be unplugged!  I was able to edit a couple of sessions (because I totally enjoy it!) and answered emails and booked a few sessions.  there are a few questions that have come in on our drive home that I will get to first thing on Tuesday.

only 5 sessions this week – one of them a fun engagement couple.. a couple of new tots I’ve not had the pleasure to meet and a family of 6!  I remember back about a year ago when I limited my sessions to 5 a month .. wow, how things have changed!!!  Brandy, my partner in crime will be joining me for a couple of the sessions!  other than that, back to normal this week… and then another vacation for us..  THEN back to business for the YEAR.. which, by the way, is incredibly busy.  If you would like a fall session, email/call!..

so back to it Tuesday!

here are a few of my pics from my camera last week.. tom’s camera went with us more and we have more pictures of us.. I’m scared to see them. Loved St. Augustine – it’s a really cool little place.  We stayed right on the bay at the Hilton Bayfront – lovely .. and so close to everything.  we walked everywhere.. stopped and ate a LOT.. and had a fabulous time.  and what did i feel like taking pictures of?..

doors and windows.. i’m so fun.

one of my favorite..

and this one.. i will be 35 this year.. i was thinking about that just as we saw this door.. and then i was like,  yeup.. i know!!!

IMG_6739eas

and that’s it..

Quick little note.

This summer I’m working on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Monday and Fridays are reserved for my family.

Next week we will be on vacation!! But I will be doing a bit of work.

Hope you all are enjoying too!!

i mean really, when you get a mom ask you to photograph her four beautiful girls, isn’t a “rustic” farm exactly what comes to mind?  and when i say “rustic” let me give a clearer picture..  we have a dear friend, steve, who has an awesome old farm up in Abingdon..  we’ve been out there quite a few times and I’ve always wanted that perfect family to take out there – but it’s a true farm – goats, cows, donkeys and all the droppings that come with said animals.. so, when i mentioned the old farm idea to jennifer, the mom of these girls, and said, “the probability of someone stepping in poo is quite high”..  i thought, well, perhaps she will not be up for it.. but she was!  and the girls were FABULOUS.. i mean.. it was almost as if they were little paid models!  crazy well behaved – and didn’t complain of the smells – or the poo for that matter..  I had such a dream time with them..

here is one of delaney..  so confident and cool.. this image totally shows the “rustic-ness” – cow even in the back..

IMG_6350bweng

and sweet emerson..this little girl has a fun little sense of humor..  she found a jaw bone from some animal – and it had a wiggly tooth.. so we are certain it was a little kid animal and the animal tooth fairy would have to visit..

IMG_6471eng

adorable little ellie..  who very much would like an orange donkey.. but not an orange talking donkey.. and not an orange cooking donkey because she wants to cook for him..  love 4 year old logic..

IMG_6522bweng

and gorgeous Avery.. crazy sweet and a gorgeous smile… which.. of course i won’t show!  I’m feeling not smiley with my peeks today.

IMG_6422bweng

okay.. i’ll put one happy colorful image of the girls together..

IMG_6547eng

i had a blast with these girls, i sure hope they did too..

oh and in the end..  the ONLY one to step in cow poo was ME!

you may remember ella’s big brother, brayden from a few weeks ago.. he’s just awesome.. well, he is officially a big brother now.  little babe Ella is here and just so tiny and perfect… she was such a good little baby – so cute how that last little ounce of food will turn a newborns in to a little noodle baby .. and what is it about tiny baby smell that just about brings tears to your eyes.. well, maybe it’s just me!  Brother Brayden thinks she’s cool and all, but honestly would rather play with his cool batman stuff than chill with his little sister..  she’s a doll – and i have pictures to prove it!

still a bit tired from her busy first week..

IMG_6146eng

isn’t .. she.. perfect?

IMG_6283eng

yeah.. i totally have baby fever after this session

Holly: What a little angel!

keegan’s mom carla contacted me like – um.. a year ago – or maybe even more.. she sent an email about maybe doing a session.  it just didn’t work out.. and then one day we passed in the hallway and she said, “are you nicholle goodnight?”.. yeup.. well, come to find out she spotted a PPA magazine in my car.. funny thing is, we must have passed each other 100 times!  By this point, Carla was pregnant with baby two!!  so pictures had to be taken.  Carla is a fellow photographer.. she has an amazing eye – and i thought it very cool that she would trust me to get some pictures of her growing family (and tummy)..

carla spotted a flower filled field (say that fast).. and we hoped they would still be there for our session!  we started out there and then moved downtown for some less “pretty” images.. it was soooo humid this night!  i was dying by the end, but they were up for ANYTHING!!!  LOVED it.. Keegan, very comfortable in front of the camera – and dear husband, Andy, oh.. just love husbands who are not only just along for the ride, but are enjoying the time too..  they are the cutest little family.. baby will be here later this summer!!!

a quick peek for the patient carla!!

here is mister keegan..
